Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Transport Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical thinking, and a hands-on approach to ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and cost-efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the acquisition, registration, and licensing of all company vehicles.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure full compliance with safety and roadworthiness standards.
- Maintain detailed service and inspection records.
- Coordinate driver recruitment and assist with onboarding processes.
- Develop and monitor efficient driver schedules and route plans.
- Manage driver performance, providing coaching and discipline where necessary.
- Implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Analyse performance data to enhance productivity and profitability.
- Utilise GPS systems to monitor fleet activity and driver progress.
- Ensure sufficient vehicle availability to meet delivery demands.
- Uphold high standards of customer service through driver management and performance monitoring.
Person Specification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, fleet management, or a related role.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
